How to update a task (Status and Duration)

The purpose of this page is to show all of the different ways to update the status and duration of a task

Date

The Start Date task can only be change from the Starts Even/Flow page or the Start Schedule page.  If the date you want to change is a lumber delivery task and it is locked please contact your Plant Manager

*Model Task can only be updated by users with the Model Team security profile, vise versa these users can only updated these tasks. 

Details 

  • The scheduled date of the task can be updated by click on the task from the calendar or list view.  Once open click on the current date and a calendar will appear.  Select the new date and click Update.

Dragging

  • The start date of a task can be updated in the calendar view by clicking and holding on the task, once engaged dragging it to the future day.  An orange box will surround the day that the system thinks you want the task based on its location.

Multi Select

  • Click on the multi select icon in the upper right hand corner of the page
  • Select the tasks or tasks you want to change the date for
  • Click Actions and then Adjust
  • Pick your date
  • Click Adjust (use the arrows to change the month)
  • All tasks selected will be on the same day
  • This can be used with prompting if all tasks selected are on the same day


Swipe (iOS)

  • Putting a single finger on the task, press down and swipe to the left (go slow)
  • Click Reschedule
  • Pick if you want other tasks affected (prompting)
  • Select your date
  • Click Save

Duration

The duration of a task represents how long it took a specific vendor to complete a task.  This should not include NO SHOW until the vendor started work and then had gaps of not being on site.  

Details 

  • The duration of the task can be updated by click on the task from the calendar or list view.  Once open click on the current date and a calendar will appear.  Select the new date and click Update. 

Dragging

  • The duration of the task can be increased or decreased by placing the mouse over the ends of the task, the mouse icon will change to a ↔ icon.  At this point click and hold and drag to the requested end date.  This can also be used to adjust the start date of a task. 

Open/Closed

Tasks can be reopened on the same day that they were completed. If a task needs to be reopened PAST that date you will need to contact your Area Lead.  Some tasks can not be completed such as Start Date, QAI, PSD (Customer Meeting) and Settlement date.  These can only be completed through nightly automation.

Details 

  • The status of a task can be Completed or reopened (if done on the same calendar day) by doing the following steps
  • Click on the task
  • Change the toggle to Complete or Open
  • Click Update

Multi Select

  • Click on the multi select icon in the upper right hand corner of the page
  • Select the tasks or tasks you want to complete
  • Click Actions and then Complete/Open
  • Click Complete (defaults to this to save time)
  • Click Apply
  • If this task is in the future it will confirm that you want to complete the task

Swipe (iOS)

  • Putting a single finger on the task, press down and swipe to the left, if you go quickly it will complete the task.  If you go slow you will have to click the complete button.

Lock/Unlock

A locked task will not be affected by the use of prompting.  It will also remain locked if the schedule was refreshed.

Details 

  • The Lock Status of a task can be Locked or Unlocked (Task that are Plant Locked need to contact their Plant Manager) by doing the following steps
  • Click on the task
  • Change the toggle to Complete or Open
  • Click Update

Multi Select

  • Click on the multi select icon in the upper right hand corner of the page
  • Select the tasks or tasks you want to Lock or Unlock
  • Click Actions and then Lock/Unlock
  • Click Locked (It defaults to this to save time), then click Apply

Multi Schedule View

  • The same functions apply above including Dragging, Details and Multi Select.
  • Clicking on the date will select ALL tasks on that date in all schedules on the page.

Multi Family Linking

Multi Family task linking allows a user to link the same task across multiple lots.  This means that when a user wants to Complete or Update the date or Duration the system will ask if they want to apply the change to a single task or the whole building.  This is a must have for anyone who is doing multi family products. 

*Ryan TH automatically create a linked task, NV and Condos need to be manually done.

Prompting

Prompting is the ability to affect tasks in the future. This is done by either updating the start date or duration of a task.  Prompting can affect interior, exterior or all future tasks based on the users request. Completed or locked tasks will not be affected by the prompting command.
